What started it all
This site started from a discussion with my husband on my shopping behavior when he asked why I liked to shop. When I thought about it,I realized that I didn’t really like to shop, it’s just that I am looking for very specific items with specific features which involves going from store to store. Not just a brown skirt, but a brown corduroy skirt with narrow wale and something that hits just above the knee (which being short limits my options quite a bit), AND is affordable . So I found myself going from one store to the next looking for this item that seemed somewhat basic, but nevertheless quite elusive.
My answer–Cravorites to the rescue
My answer to him was that if there were a store filled with all my favorite things, I’d just go there and would be perfectly happy not to go from store to store. Mind you, my favorite things to crave are really MY favorites at a given time. Not just something neat for me to put on this site. Now I know that just because these things are my favorites, doesn’t necessarily mean they will be yours, but at least it’s a start. And I do consider myself to be quite picky. Most things aren’t overly expensive–I just don’t have the stomach for the favorite things in magazines that are outrageously priced. A candle for $56 or a ‘good value’ t-shirt for $88? I don’t think so.
Your thoughts
Occasionally I am on the lookout for a particular item so I may post here asking for your favorites so I can avoid shopping. And certainly feel free to comment on the things I mentioned.
